Program Sequence
Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Depending on the arrival time, there is the opportunity for a private city tour. Dinner/Overnight.
After breakfast, departure from the hotel in Marrakech towards southern Morocco. with SUV. It goes over the High Atlas over the 2,260 m high pass Tizi-n-Tichka with a detour to the most famous Kasbah in Morocco, Ait Benhaddou. This Kasbah complex is protected as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. After lunch visit Kasbah Tamnougalte in Agdz. Then it continues on a track along the Draa valley. This is the longest wadi in Morocco. The Draa has its source in the High Atlas and seeps away after about 200 km in the sand of the Sahara. Over this stretch, however, it allows palm groves and gardens to thrive. They form the livelihood of the Berbers who live there. Overnight stay and dinner in Zagora in a 3-star hotel with a large pool or in a bivouac in a nomad tent, in the “Hotel 1000 Stars”.
After breakfast continue towards M’hamid. On the way stop at Tamegroute to visit the famous Koranic library, the underground Kasbah and a ceramic factory. Lunch at Mhamid. In the late afternoon we go on camelback for 3 hours through the desert, overnight in the bivouac at Erg “Lamazoaria”.
After breakfast, continue by Landrover to Erg Chegaga on the slopes to Sacrée Oum Laalag. That’s where the nomads meet. After lunch to the high dunes of Chegaga to admire the sunset. You will sleep in a permanent bivouac in nomadic tents with showers and toilets. Dinner with traditional folk entertainment (Berber, Tuareg, Sahauris and Nomad music).
After breakfast drive over the old track of the Paris – Dakar Rally crossing the dry lake Lac Iriqui to Foum Zguid, from there on to Taznakht, lunch break there. Continue to Marrakech; Overnight in a 3-star hotel or riad, dinner.
